<p>This is classic marketing strategy: get your ass kicked by an upstart rival, then re-define your competitive landscape to show how you were never really that interested in the space to begin with. We&#8217;ve seen MySpace do it in regards to Facebook, and now Yahoo is doing it with Google.</p>
