Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz continues to prove that she’s the top dog in Sunnyvale. In a leaked company-wide memo, Bartz extolled employees to stop talking about Yahoo’s widely-criticized search deal with Microsoft:
…get out of the sugar low–we have work to do. Stop staring at our navels, stop arguing with each other. Stop debate, debate, debate, and let’s focus on the competition.
That’ll teach them to stop complaining! One has to wonder in what Soviet gulag these chief executives learned their leadership skills. You’d think that Bartz would have figured out from ex-HP CEO Carly Fiorina that once you alienate your engineers, it’s tough to regain their respect. For now, it’s clear she is determined to make all her own mistakes.
